aspex, Portsmouth's leading contemporary art gallery has shown challenging and innovative exhibitions for twenty-five years. Its new home, the Vulcan Building at Gunwharf Quays, will enable aspex to provide improved exhibition spaces and facilities including an education studio, an enlarged Artists' Resource Centre, a shop selling the best in contemporary craft and design, and a cafe offering local organic produce.

Designed by Glenn Howells Architects, the new gallery is a contemporary insertion into the historic fabric of the building, a former naval storehouse built 1811-14. The relocation of aspex will give the public access to this important building for the first time.

Hiring aspex

The glamorous contemporary spaces, natural lighting and changing exhibition programme create an ideal backdrop for any event from product launches to staff away days, intimate cocktail parties and exclusive dinners.

Entire aspex including all gallery areas, max 200 for receptions – rate upon request.

Quotes also available for joint use. All rates are exclusive of catering and additional staff, but do include cleaning, the use of 1 flipchart, wi-fi & AV equipment if required,
