2011 is an exciting year for aspex, as the gallery celebrates its 30th birthday with a programme of inspiring exhibitions and plenty of interesting and fun events for our visitors. We’re also marking our 5th year at Gunwharf Quays, in our award-winning space in the Vulcan Building, just behind the Loch Fyne restaurant on Canalside.
aspex works to support and promote the work of emerging artists, showing 16 exhibitions every year in our two gallery spaces. The gallery is also home to an innovative Learning & Participation programme, with regular art workshops for all age groups all year round at the gallery building, and at our new education space in the Lighthouse, beside the Fire & Stone restaurant. aspex supports local artists through the artist resource centre (arc) within the gallery, which offers practical advice and a programme of workshops and events.

Looking for an unusual gift, or fancy taking home some locally-produced crafts? aspex’s shop sells great art, contemporary craft, stocks the largest selection of art journals in the city and has a kiddies corner with lots of fun and arty items.
