What are the retail opening hours?

Our Retail Opening Hours are:

Monday - Friday, 10am - 7pm
Saturday, 9am - 7pm
Sunday, 10am* - 5pm

Bank Holidays, 10am - 7pm. 

*Due to Sunday trading law, larger stores are unable to open until 11am

Where can I purchase a Gunwharf Quays gift card? Which places do accept them?

The Gunwharf Quay's gift card is available from the Visitor Information Kiosk, Central Square.

The gift card can be used in all the stores, bars & restaurants at Gunwharf Quays.

- If you have any Gunwharf Quays gift vouchers, these are still valid for use, but are not accepted by all of the stores, bars & restaurants.  Please call 023 9283 6700 to get an up to date list of where these are accepted.  These will be being phased out, so to avoid disappointment please do use them soon!

Where are the toilets located?
There are three sets of toilets (including disabled toilets) at Gunwharf Quays. They are located on the waterfront next to Café Giardino; on Caen Marché next to Boots the Chemist; and on Malborough Avenue next to Presto.

Where are the cash points (ATM’s) located?
There is set of cash machines (Halifax, NatWest and HSBC) by Marks & Spencer Outlet, and there is a Lloyds TSB cash machine by Burger King. There are also cash machines in Tiger Tiger, Bar 38 and The Old Customs House.

Is there a hotel at Gunwharf Quays?
Yes, there is an Express by Holiday Inn hotel at Gunwharf Quays which has 130-bedrooms.

Can I smoke at Gunwharf Quays?

 Gunwharf Quays is adhering to the government smoke free law and as of the 1st July there will be designated smoking areas.

The smoke free area are:
* The car park
* The covered shopping avenues
* The Vue cinema foyer and balcony
* All bars and restaurants
* Shops and leisure facilities

Smoking is allowed in outdoor areas at Gunwharf Quays and ashtrays and bins are provided to dispose of your cigarette stubbs but please look out for the no smoking signs.

Is there a chemist or Boots on site?
Yes, there is a Boots at Gunwharf Quays, located on Caen Marche.

Basic painkillers, plasters etc. can also be purchased in Gunwharf Express and Gunwharf News. 

What times will the stores be open on Bank Holidays?
The retail outlets will be open from 10am - 7pm on Bank Holidays.

What time do the bars & restaurants and leisure operators open?
The bar, restaurant and leisure opening times do vary, though a majority are open by 11am.  Some of the bars, restaurants and leisure operators do have late licences so if you are planning a visit here, do check with the venue you intend to visit.  The Coffee Shops operate the same hours as the retail.

What are the car park charges?

Up to 2 hours, £2.70
2 - 3     hours, £3.80
3 - 4     hours, £5.00
4 - 5     hours, £6.00
5 - 6     hours, £7.00
6 - 7     hours, £8.00
7 - 10   hours, £10.00
10 - 24 hours, £20.00

Concessionary car parking is available to cinema visitors.
Lost tickets will be charged at the full daily rate of £20.

Motorcycle discounted parking only in designated areas.

Are there car parking concessions for disabled people?
There are no concessions for disabled people in the car park, however there are allocated car parking spaces adjacent to the lift entrances.

Where are the car park pay machines located?
Pay machines are located on the both levels of the car park by the escalators and lifts.

What do I need to do if I lose my car park ticket?

If you lose your car park ticket, please go to the car park office which is on the upper level of the car park near the entrance, the staff there will be able to help you.  Lost tickets are charged at the full daily rate of £20.

What time does the car park close?
The Gunwharf Quays car park is open 24 hours, is fully lit and very secure.

Do I get a car park discount if I see a film at VUE Cinemas?

Yes. Please go to the Customer Services desk in the cinema to validate your car park ticket after you have seen the film.

Is there a post office here?

There isn't a post office on site, but there are 2 post boxes- one in Central Square and one opposite Marks & Spencer Outlet.  Stamps can be purchased from Gunwharf News and Gunwharf Express.  The nearest post office is on Queen Street, which is about a 10 minute walk away.

Where can I change my money?

There is a Bureau De Change in Central Square.

Who shall I contact regarding lost property?

Please call 023 9283 6700, and wait for an operator (7 days a week).   If you are at Gunwharf Quays, then please come to the Visitor Information Kiosk in Central Square, or speak to one of the Customer Service Officers who patrol the site.

Do you have a coach parking facility on site?
There is no coach parking at Gunwharf Quays. We have a coach drop off point where coaches can drop people off and then pick up later. The nearest coach parking facilities are the Historic Dockyard car park and the Wightlink ferry car park.

What is the height restriction for the car park?
2.2 meters.

Where is the nearest tourist information centre?
The nearest tourist information centre is located on The Hard just by the Historic Dockyard entrance.

Where can I find out about jobs?
There is a jobs board next to Claire’s Accessories; you can also check the latest jobs on our website.

Is there a taxi rank?
The taxi rank is located next to Marks & Spencer Outlet.

Where is the nearest bus/train stop?
The nearest train station is Portsmouth Harbour, which is only a 5 minute walk away.  Bus stops which serve the whole city, and National Express stops, are located in the Hard Interchange which is also only a 5 minute walk away.
