What facilities are there for disabled visitors?
There are disabled spaces in the upper level of our car park, and we run a shopmobility scheme (see below).
There are disabled toilets in all our toilet facilities, and in addition in the toilets by Boots we also have a disabled changing room incorporating a variable height changing bed.
Do you have a shop mobility scheme? What sort of equipment do you have? What are the charges?
Yes, there is a shop mobility scheme at Gunwharf Quays. There are 6 electric scooters, 2 electric wheelchairs and 6 manual wheelchairs available to anybody with mobility difficulties and can be used completely free of charge. Please call 023 9283 6700 for more information and to book.
Do I have to be member of a shop mobility scheme to be able hire shop mobility equipment from you?
No, but you will be required to show a form of identification with your address on it when you hire the equipment from us.
Can I take the equipment off site? (e.g. to the Historic Dockyard, to the Hard Interchange or to the town centre)
No, the shop mobility equipment is only to be used at Gunwharf Quays.
Where are the disabled spaces located in the car park?
There are 37 allocated disabled spaces in the car par, on the upper level & on the lower level, all close to escalators and lifts, which take you up into the centre.
Where are the lifts located?
There are lifts that take you from the car park up in to Central Square, in addition to these, there are also lifts next to Carphone Warehouse and Gap, which provide access to the first floor and to the vue cinema, Bowlplex, Jongleurs and the first floor restaurants.
