Fun on the water at Gunwharf Quays is an on-the-water experience company. We offer experiences from just £15, all of which make fantastic Christmas and birthday presents, as well as great days out for you, your friends and family.

All experience vouchers are valid for twelve months, and can be redeemed against a wide variety of experiences.

Fun on the water also operates RIB (powerboat) trips from Gunwharf Quays Marina, at weekends from the spring until late autumn, as well as week days during the school holidays and half term. Our most popular trips are our 40 minute “Forts Blast” (£15 per person) and half day RIB adventures (£49 per person), both of which take place on our fleet of nine meter, ten seater RIBs, capable of speeds of up to 50mph! We also do tailor-made trips to suite you, from stag and hen parties, to corporate days out.

Forts Blast - £15 per person:
Jump aboard one of our nine meter high speed powerboats (RIBs) for a “blast” around the Napoleonic Forts out in the Solent. Our trip departs Gunwharf Quays for a short look at the harbour and historic ships. After exiting the harbour we open up the throttle of one of our 10 seater speed machines, where you will experience speeds of up to 50mph as we skim across the top of the waves. You will get a unique and close up view of the forts, as well of the adrenaline pumping sensation of the boat flying across the wakes from passing ferries and ships. The trip lasts approximately 40 minutes, and departs Gunwharf Quays on the hour, every hour at weekends and during school holidays (weather permitting). To book simply call us on 02392 528447.

Half day Cowes adventure - £55 per person (must be pre booked):
Our half day adventure starts at Gunwharf Quays at 9.30am. We will kit you up with lifejackets and waterproofs before boarding one of our 9 meter, 10 seater powerboats (RIBs). After a look around the harbour and historic ships, we go out into the Solent and open up the throttle. You’ll experience speeds of up to 50mph as your experienced professional skipper shows you the historic sights of the Solent, including the Napoleonic Forts, the spot where the Mary Rose sunk, and more. Depending on what events are going on that day, you may see some yacht racing, war ships, cruise ships, powerboat racing, or even a seaplane landing! We stop for a 45 minutes break in Cowes, where you can grab a drink in one of the waterside bars or cafes, or wander through the narrow cobbled streets absorbing some of the history in this world famous Sailing town. After that it’s back on board for some more high speed action as we blast back to Portsmouth, jumping off the wakes of ferries and ships as we go. You’ll arrive back in Gunwharf Quays at around 1:30pm; the experience lasts around 4 hours. To book simply call us on 02392 528447.

Full day adventure - £99 per person (must be pre booked):

Private boat charter - £699 (must be pre booked):
For the ultimate day out on the water why not charter a private boat for you and your friends and family. Our boats can take up to 10 passengers, which works out at only £69 per person for a full day.
