Get ready for an epic summer celebration as the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race begins its next chapter from Gunwharf Quays
From 29th – 31st August, Gunwharf Quays will host a FREE, family-friendly festival to celebrate the return of the world-famous Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Expect three days of live entertainment, interactive activities, yacht tours and more – all leading up to the spectacular race start on Saturday 31st August.
This iconic race is back in Portsmouth to mark two major milestones – 25 years since it first set sail from the city and 30 years of training people to take on the extraordinary global challenge.
Be part of this amazing global event with our fantastic programme of events. Step aboard impressive Clipper 70 racing yachts, enjoy interactive games, listen to live music and talk to the ocean racers about the epic feat ahead of them!
On Saturday 31st August the celebrations continue with a special departure ceremony from midday, featuring a race crew parade and fantastic flotilla. There will also be a race start cannon as the yachts head out into the Solent.
