Join us 14th-17th August for this thrilling family event
This summer, Portsmouth will play host to a major event as The Ocean Race Europe stops by on 14th-17th August, bringing the thrill of world-class offshore sailing right here to Gunwharf Quays.
Celebrating the legacy of the Whitbread Round the World Race, which first set sail from Portsmouth in 1973, this stopover is a chance to witness incredible sailors competing in the modern incarnation of the race, which connects Europe.
The event will be a chance to see the flying, foiling, record-breaking IMOCA boats used in the race today, which push the boundaries of technology and engineering.
Gunwharf Quays will host the Ocean Live Park, a public area where you can enjoy family-friendly Fan Day activities, meet-and-greets with sailors, boat displays and a spotlight on ocean health and sustainability. You can also listen to live music and performances throughout the weekend.
Don’t miss the Dock Out ceremony on Sunday 17th August as the teams set sail from the Solent for the next leg of the race!
