The Spook-Ademy

By day, prepare to be enchanted by The Spook-Ademy – a playful immersive theatre show where every guest becomes a student in the art of the scare. Younger children can enjoy a gentle, playful version full of fun and laughter, while older kids and families encounter extra frights as the day goes on.

The Pumpkin Picturehouse

As night falls, The Spook-Ademy transforms into The Pumpkin Picturehouse, a cosy and atmospheric cinema showing seasonal vintage horror films. It’s the perfect spot to settle in for a night of nostalgia and shivers.

The Summoning (18+)

For the truly fearless, The Summoning offers an intimate séance horror experience. Step into a dust-covered room frozen in time as you attempt to summon the spirit that dwells there. Once the lights go out, you’ll discover that some spirits should never be disturbed.

The Lantern Lounge

The Lantern Lounge glows with warm light, serving spooky cocktails and themed food under a canopy of hanging lanterns. It's the ideal place to relax, share stories, and toast to a night of Halloween magic.

What can I expect?

Pumpkinville is a spooky, immersive experience for the whole family. The main attraction is Spook-Ademy, a playful immersive theatre show where every guest becomes a student in the art of the scare. Featuring a blend of digital content and live theatrical performances, this is a spooky treat for everyone. After the show, guests are able to relax in the Lantern Lounge, our spooky Halloween bar and cafe space, open to all visitors.

By night, the spooks draw in and guests can visit The Pumpkin Picturehouse, a cosy and atmospheric cinema showing seasonal vintage horror films or test their bravery in The Summoning, an exclusive horror experience – only available for guests aged 18+.

Where can I find Pumpkinville?

You’ll find Pumpkinville in The Plaza at Gunwharf Quays. 

How long is the experience?

The Spook-Ademy, The Summoning and Pumpkin Picturehouse experiences will last approximately 25 minutes. You are free to explore the Lantern Lounge for as long as you please.

Is there an age requirement?

There is no age requirement for our main show, however, we are unfortunately not able to accommodate babes in arms. The Summoning experience is only for people ages 18 and over.

Is the experience indoors?

The main shows and the Lantern Lounge are both housed indoors. There’s also extension seating for our bar and café area outside. 

What is The Summoning? 

The Summoning is an exclusive horror attraction, offering an intimate séance experience. This is a scare experience designed to terrify you, so is only available to guests over the age of 18.

Will food and drink be available on site for purchase?

Yes, food and drink will be available both before and after your show experience at the Lantern Lounge. 

How physically demanding will the experience be?

Our venue is relaxing – it's the holiday season after all! Whilst you'll be given the option to actively take part, you're also welcome to sit down throughout the shows. 

Will there be additional sessions?

We cannot guarantee extra sessions will be added, however, we're always reviewing popularity of certain dates and may make adjustments. If there's a date you'd like to attend, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Will there be merchandise for sale?

Yes, exclusive merchandise will be available on site for purchase.

Can I bring food and drink to the experience?

No outside food or drink is allowed at the venue, with the exception of resealable bottles of water and anything that may be required for medical reasons.

Do I need to arrive at the start of my scheduled session?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled show time. You're welcome to use the bar and café area before your show starts. If you miss the start of your show we'll endeavour to accommodate you in the next available show, but you will not be able to enter your booked show after it begins.

Are service dogs allowed?

Yes, guide and assistance dogs are allowed.

What are the prohibited items at the experience?

You are not able to bring onto site large suitcases or backpacks that can not be reasonably carried by you at all times. You may be asked to place larger items, including strollers, in a holding area for the main shows, and we do not take any responsibility for lost or damaged items left in this area.

Can I be seated during the show?

Yes – you'll be seated during the show. Due to capacity limitations, you may be required to sit on a beanbag – if you require a seat, please inform a member of staff before entering the dome.

Will toilets be available on site?

Due to our temporary set up, Pumpkinville does not have toilets on site – however, toilets are available a short walk away within Gunwharf Quays. 

Can I take photos or record the experience?

You're welcome to take photos throughout the venue, however there are no photos or videos to be taken within the main theatrical shows.

Will there be an audio guide?

Unfortunately, this experience does not include an audio guide.

Is there parking available?

Gunwharf Quays Car Park is a short walk away, and available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
